Class Tours
What better way to understand the workings of the provincial legislature, and the rich political history of Prince Edward Island than to visit the place where everything happens?
Teachers and classes are more than welcome to visit the Legislative Assembly, especially when members are present during a session, to experience the provincial parliament in action from the public gallery. When the members are not sitting, students can view the Legislative Assembly Chamber in the Hon. George Coles Building from just inside the entrance. With proper advance notice, a staff member of the Legislative Assembly can meet with your class to discuss the Chamber, the business of the legislature, and the people who meet there.
Class tours are available for all grade levels, post-secondary students and adult learners. Teachers of English as an Additional Language are also encouraged to arrange a visit to the legislature for their students.
You will need to provide your name and contact information, as well as the name of your school, the number of students taking the tour, and the type of class (history, social studies, etc.), if applicable.
If arriving by bus, it is best if students can leave backpacks and kit bags on the bus.
