Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, July 31, 2019 - The Honourable Antoinette Perry, Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Island, and the Honourable Colin LaVie, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, will be in attendance at a swearing-in ceremony for new member Natalie Jameson, MLA for District 9: Charlottetown – Hillsborough Park, on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10:30 a.m., in the Legislative Assembly Chamber, Honourable George Coles Building, Charlottetown.
Prior to assuming a designated seat on the floor of the House, all Members must swear, or solemnly affirm, the Oath of Allegiance as required in the Constitution Acts 1867 to 1982, Section 128. Pursuant to direction received from Her Honour, the Lieutenant Governor, this Oath will be administered by the Clerk and Clerk Assistant of the Legislative Assembly. The new Member will swear that she will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors according to law.
