Reports and Opinions
Reports are the results of investigations conducted by the Commissioner and follow an official request in writing that a potential breach of the Act be investigated. Prior to 2021, investigations by the Commissioner could only be requested by the Premier, by another Member of the Legislative Assembly, or by resolution of the Legislative Assembly.
Opinions can be formal or informal advice provided to a Member by the Commissioner on how to comply with the Act. Opinions are strictly confidential but can be released to the public by the Member or by the Commissioner with the Member’s consent.
